Area 2

A lot has gone on in the area, since we held the qualifiers at Tanners Hall Farm.

Teams that did not qualify for Lincoln, had the opportunity to go to Northern Regional Championships, which were held at Bishop Burton College on 27th August 2016, The whole of the East coast, areas 2, 4, and 16 put their teams forward, both juniors and seniors.  We had accommodation, stabling, excellent facilities, the show jumping arena, and enough space for five arenas with plenty of warm up room.   Horse boxes parked near the dressage arenas, and those that stayed, parked near their stabling.  The feed back we have had was, can we do this again.   Lots of thanks must go to the organising committee, helpers, judges.

British Dressage, gave prizes to go with dressage team winners, British Eventing, gave free membership for 2017 to the combined training winners. British Horse Society also were offering 30% discount for BHS membership.  Thank you very much to those organisations.

Thank you very much to Bishop Burton College for their venue.

Quadrilles.   As many people will know, I have always had quadrilles at the top of my list of best possible competitions.   Durham and District last year took place in the qualifier at Bury Farm Bedfordshire, and learnt a lot, and this came back fighting, top marks for dress and turnout, and came 5th out of the 11 teams taking part, not quite into the top 4, but I am sure that they will come back fighting even more next year, there is a challenge for them!!!!!!

The first competition for the qualifiers for 2017 will be Festival of the Horse to be held at Alnwick Ford on 9th October 2016.   Contact your team manager of your club to register your interest.
